Fantastic new album, Fabrizio!
I was already familiar with some of the tracks but the immediate thought after listening to it in its entirety, and by comparison with the explosion of breathtaking lyricism in its predecessor — Viaggi in Aeromobile — is one of deep admiration for its quintessentially minimalist coherence. From the steady rhythmic pulse in the opening Profondo Blu to the elegant, escalating reiterations of simple beats and motif-building loops threaded throughout the melodies the music unfolds organically like a soundtrack with bursts of coloristic originality here and there that define the character of the individual compositions rather than compromising their harmonious, almost symmetrical quality. The intros to some pieces (like Viandanze) are so cleverly simple and pure in form and composition that they feel almost ethereal. I have some favourites, or better, several high points of enjoyment throughout the album, and not necessarily identifiable with a single track, rather evenly scattered like focal points in a landscape that would lose consistency if isolated, for a homogenous whole is only enhanced by its parts and its parts by their connections. Beautiful album with fantastic front-to-back listenability factor.
Thank you for sharing your music with the world
Love your new album, your music is very beautiful. My favourite track is Veloma, can hear the voices of a couple saying good-bye to each other, it’s hard to describe in words what the music describes so well.
Thank you!
John
